Welcome

Hi, welcome to My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Talk:Characters/@comment-KitsuneRisu-20110214143026 page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Throwawaytv (Talk) 14:31, 14 February 2011

Characters page

The page should be editable without any problems now. Sorry for the interruption. -Throwawaytv 17:13, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

Background characters, front page

Your new template has been implemented. As for the front page, please leave the layout as it is -- there is no reason to bombard visitors with images on the front page. -Throwawaytv 03:58, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

I'd also like to apologize for reverting all of your edits all the time -- it's really not my intention to boss you around. -Throwawaytv 04:05, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for cropping all the images on the background characters page. There's a small problem with saturation though, almost all of them are oversaturated and their colors are distorted. -Throwawaytv 08:29, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
Seems like almost all of the photos you uploaded are oversaturated too. -Throwawaytv 08:36, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure what's causing the 'oversaturation'. I personally took all the screenshots myself from my video sources with the exception of a few (maybe 3 - 4) where I couldn't find them in the videos, in which case I would download, crop and reupload when necessary.
All the pictures that I uploaded look as it does in my videos.
Just as a test to prove my photo editor isn't jacking up the colours, here's a screenshot of this page NEXT to the video where I took it from. I checked also my computer settings and video settings, and they were at normal with no increased saturation, brightness or anything.

As you can see, the colours of my screencap match my video, and the screencap of your picture matches your thumbnail directly. I can only guess that the problem lies in the source video itself, which I downloaded from youtube and converted to AVI. I don't know what to say besides though.
Anyway, with all these problems over problems, I think I'm harming a bit more than helping. I'm going to stop contributing, and thanks for putting up with all these issues. Cheers, and sorry for the problems.
Whoa whoa whoa, let's look at things objectively:
Harm you've done: NONE.
Things you've contributed: new background character template, standardized thumbnails for background characters.

I am awfully sorry for bossing you around so much, it's really a very bad welcome on my part. Please reconsider leaving, you've made the wiki better and you should stay if you like.

The oversaturation is part of the source from YouTube. I recommend Masterlinkx's videos or the episode downloads for better video sources. -Throwawaytv 13:03, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
Well I wasn't going to storm off and away, haha. I'm just.. well, tired I guess. I spent three hours getting all those screenshots and cropping them down, and then to get told that they've all got some kind of issue, it's just draining. And yeah, I know it's not your fault, and I don't blame you in the least. It's just been a constant stream of issues since I got here. And don't get me wrong, I know you have a job to do in maintaining the wiki, and essentially what I'm sick of is giving you more work rather than alleviating.
Trust me when I say that I really enjoy helping in general. Maybe you could give me smaller tasks to help with, like general cleanup or anything else (in actuality, I'm a writer by profession, so maybe something regarding writing), and I DO want to keep maintaining these thumbnail things too. In the future, I'll use a less saturated source if I need to do any edits.
The weird thing? I AM using MasterlinkX's videos. Originally I downloaded the web downloads, but those, as said in the doc, has major glitches and artifacts all over, and I really couldn't stand it. So what I did was actually rip them off youtube from MasterlinkX, and convert them all from .flv/.mp4 to .avi to remove the glitches. I actually have an absolutely clean version of eps 3 - 12, albeit in lower quality. (Ep 3 - 4 still has the audio problems, but that's the fault of hubworld, if I recall.)
Thing is, I'm not sure if something in the conversion is warping the colours or not, but it seems like that might be the culprit.

Add a background pony?

I don't suppose you could add Moondancer to the Background Pony pages, could you? I don't trust myself to do that with the current structure. She was mentioned in Episode 1, never seen in this series, but seems to have been named in official materials in past series. As a 1983 pony, she appears to have been a white unicorn with a crescent moon / stars cutie mark and red hair with purple streaks. Or a later set "Moonlight Celebration w/M." where she's a shiny blue earth pony with blond hair but still a crescent moon / stars cutie mark.

Just asking. McClaw 21:02, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
